    As our Creative Services Manager, you will positively impact the customer experience by driving the creative vision of our agency to achieve Community Transit’s strategic outcomes. Leading our talented team of graphic designers, you will oversee creative development of Community Transit’s dynamic portfolio of products, marketing campaigns, digital initiatives, and communications.     The ideal candidate will be an experienced visual designer with a knock-out portfolio that demonstrates expertise in digital, print, and video. This candidate will demonstrate innate creativity and be confident articulating creative concepts. They will also be equally engaged leading a team of designers as they are working with internal clients. Lastly, they will be brand advocates and have experience ensuring brand and customer experience are aligned.


    Essential Duties

    • Supervises staff including prioritizing, assigning and reviewing work; coaching, motivating and training staff; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
    • Oversees art and creative direction of design and video team and acts as project manager for team work schedules. Collaborates with and provides overall strategic direction to a team of designers ensuring high quality work. Seeks feedback from customers external to the project. Tests materials in live environment. Makes data driven creative recommendations.
    • Provides appropriately-branded, conceptual development, messaging, writing and creative oversight of marketing projects and agency products. Ensures brand standards and brand integrity is maintained in development of work products. 
    • Manages, plans and organizes projects involving specific creative digital media functions including video and photo shoots.
    • Contributes to copy-writing, script-writing, promotional writing, storyboarding, producing/directing and planning of digital animation, audio, photography and video.
    • Provides support to the Marketing Manager in strategic marketing projects to include: defining marketing strategies and messages; identifying potential customers; and, developing, recommending, and monitoring marketing project budgets.
    • Reviews marketing project requests in order to fully utilize internal resources, and utilize external resources when necessary. Develops scopes of work. Participates in and oversees budgeting, time-line, selection and hiring of consultants/ contracted services. Reviews and approves work submitted by design team, stakeholders and contractors.
    • Ensures brand standards and brand integrity is maintained in development of work products.
    • Coordinates creative project schedules with other departments to ensure mutual deadlines are met and to minimize conflicting resources. 
    • Balances client/customer/stakeholder needs and requirements with strategic agency objectives. 
    • Performs other duties of similar nature or level as required.






    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Advertising, Public Communications or other related field.
    2. Four (4) years of art/creative direction.
    3. Three (3) years supervisory experience.
    4. Three (3) years strategic marketing project experience including strategic conceptual development and writing.

    An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

    8. Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with marketing and design staff, supervisors, managers.
    9. Developing and creating marketing which target the appropriate audience.
    10. Taking a project from concept through the final production.
    11. Evaluating the effectiveness of marketing strategies.
    12. Time management.
    13. Developing and creating products matched to target audiences.
    14. Evaluating creative product and service effectiveness.
    15. Time management.
    16. Communication and interpersonal relations as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.


    Physical Requirements

    Reaching, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions and carrying.


    Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.



    Incumbents may be subjected to travel.
