    Job Summary

    Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent works under general supervision, manages the development and implementation of field marketing, business development and education programs in workplace, school and residential settings to reduce single-occupant vehicle trips, with an emphasis on Community Transit services as a key component.

    Essential Duties

    1. Designs, implements, and oversees field marketing, business development and education programs in workplace, school and residential settings Field Marketing, Business Development and the related education programs of the Agency. 
    2. Hires, develops, manages, and coaches staff in the Field Marketing & Business Development work group. Assigns task/projects, sets accountabilities, monitors work and evaluates staff performance.
    3. In collaboration with the Marketing Manager, develops and oversees group work plans and sets goals for the team through knowledge and understanding of Community Transit’s products and services, transportation demand management and commute reduction techniques, and business development and field marketing tactics.
    4. Manages the development, implementation and evaluation of employer-based and residential field marketing and business development programs.
    5. Supports negotiations, with key grant contracts, inter-local agreements, and business partner agreements.
    6. Ensures group maintains effective working relationships with employers, local jurisdictions, regional and state agencies, and Transportation Demand Management associations.
    7. Represents Community Transit in meetings with Transportation Demand Management partners, Communicate status, issues and risks to senior management and project stakeholders.
    8. Helps support the Marketing team as a whole and contributes to Marketing-wide efforts as needed; performs other Marketing duties as assigned

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a Marketing, Communications, or Business discipline, or the equivalent in education and experience.
    • 3+ years of experience supervising others.
    • 3+ years of experience in field marketing, sales or business development role.
    • A combination of education and experience would be sufficient to meet the requirements of the job.

    Preferred

    • Experience with developing integrated multi-touch field marketing and/or business development programs, including lead generation.
    • Experience with targeting, segmentation and list acquisition to build prospect lists for lead generation campaigns.
    • Understanding of the psychology of behavior change and effective strategies to influence and foster behavior change.
    • Experience in transit industry and/or knowledge of Transportation Demand Management strategies.

    • Principles and techniques for the preparation and presentation of written and oral information, including public speaking.
    • Customer service principles and practices.
    • Methods and techniques of data collection, research, and report preparation.
    • Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
    • English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

     

    Qualification to enter this position requires skill in:

    • Communication and interpersonal relations as applied in interactions with peers, subordinates, teams/employees, supervisor, the general public, Board members and others
    • Preparing presentations, public speaking and presenting information to small and large groups, employee groups, management, the Board, elected officials and the community.
