The Digital Data Analyst at Community Transit is empowered to translate data into meaningful insights that tell the story of how customers interact with us from a digital perspective. The Digital Data Analyst conducts research across multiple platforms to drive data-driven insights that enable decision-making. This person works cross-functionally to plan and lead digital analytics and develop reporting that communicates trends and performance against key performance indicators (KPI’s).


The Digital Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring that we continue to drive traffic, engage our customers and report progress in a timely manner. To gain further perspective this individual administers A/B and multivariate tests, digital surveys and polling, and participates in user testing and usability. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a positive and professional attitude, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.


The ideal candidate is an expert at analyzing digital user behavior and delivering actionable insights that guide decision making and optimization. The position is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a passion to improve the customer’s experience.

Essential Duties

  1. Perform thorough analysis and identify actionable insights aligned with the digital product roadmap and other initiatives
  2. Develop and manage comprehensive digital reporting that includes the website, search, social media, email and SMS
  3. Work with business stakeholders to identify key performance indicators for each of our digital touchpoints across the agency
  4. Build custom dashboards and reports that clearly communicate effectiveness to various audiences aligned with KPIs
  5. Make findings and recommendations visible across the agency to a variety of audiences, including executive staff
  6. Facilitate A/B and multivariate testing through the website, social channels and email in order to test improvement hypotheses
  7. Measure site usability/effectiveness, and present actionable insights and recommendations based on data, results and best practices
  8. Configure Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, HotJar, Lighthouse, Screaming Frog, etc. to ensure all data is being tracked, funneled and reported accurately
  9. Research and recommend new tools and techniques for measuring the effectiveness of the digital experience for customers
  10. Provide analysis of features prior to and after launch that measure their success with insights based on success metrics


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. 3 years relevant work experience and hands-on expertise with a leading analytics product (Google Analytics preferred) and data visualization software (Tableau preferred)
  3. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above may be considered.



  1. Programming experience (Javascript and DOM API)
  2. Understanding of and familiarity with transit technology
  3. Experience in customer research and focus group testing
  4. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology
