Under general supervision, the Marketing Coordinator supports the efforts of the Marketing division to carry out programs, projects, initiatives and events. The Marketing Coordinator will coordinate with internal and external resources to ensure successful and timely completion of each project; coordinates with team to ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met for all Marketing programs.

Essential Duties

  1. Support marketing and field marketing initiatives with the planning, executing and tracking of assigned programs, projects and events.
  2. Uses knowledge of Community Transit’s products and services, interact with audiences at events and other venues to educate and influence behavioral change – answering questions, fulfilling requests and raising larger issues to the management team.
  3. Manage internal processes and coordinate external vendors to ensure high-quality and timely execution of marketing programs.
  4. Oversees project schedules and regularly reports on project status. Proactively manages task lists, obstacles, and competing priorities to make sure every deadline is met.
  5. Compiles, researches and analyzes available information to publish reports for Marketing programs.
  6. Coordinates updates to Marketing materials and manages existing collateral, including updates; manages inventory for promotional items and event materials.
  7. Helps support the Marketing team as a whole and contributes to Marketing-wide efforts as needed; performs other Marketing duties as assigned.
  8. Works across teams and organizations to understand project scope, translate objectives into requirements, and track progress of deliverables/activity.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (AS or AA) or a two-year technical certificate in Marketing, Project Management or business management.
  • 3 years of experience in marketing, project management or operations.
  • One year of demonstrated experience working on projects.

Or the equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties.

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and extended hours as required.
  • Valid driver’s license


  • Experience in project management, including developing project plans, maintaining timelines and budgets, overseeing project details.
  • Knowledge of transit industry.
  • Multilingual

Qualification to fulfill the full range of this position’s duties requires the following knowledge, which may be gained or further developed after entering the job:

  1. Full knowledge of Community Transit products and services.
  2. Presenting information to internal and external customers.

Physical Requirements

Reaching, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions and carrying.                           

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
