Our Coach Operators are front line employees who strive to make every ride a safe, reliable and enjoyable experience for our customers. Based out of Everett, WA, we provide service throughout Snohomish County and parts of King County.

Coach Operators are represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local #1576.
This position is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel coaches and other various support vehicles operated by Community Transit in the field or at the Operations Base.
The Vehicle Maintenance section operates three shifts (day, swing and graveyard), seven days a week. Work schedules and locations are based on a seniority system and Graveyard and Swing Shift vacancies will be the most likely openings. Swing and graveyard shift employees receive a shift differential. Employees work a 40 hour per week schedule with two consecutive days off, but not necessarily Saturday and Sunday. Employees must be able and willing to work any shift, including any combination of days off.

Under the direction of the Staff Development Manager, the Instructor develops, coordinates, schedules and executes, for new and existing employees of the corporation, skills development, procedural instruction, safety and required training programs to meet corporate training objectives; performs skill evaluations in assigned areas, maintains records and instructional resources and monitors effectiveness of training programs.
Transportation Instructor shall develop, coordinate and execute programs for employees throughout the corporation as assigned, with primary responsibility to the continuing education and certification of Transportation Supervisors, Dispatchers and other employees.

Instructors are responsible for researching, developing and conducting training for new and existing employees as assigned. They are responsible for skills development, procedural instruction, safety and required training. They perform skill assessment, write new and modify existing curriculum, train mechanics on new equipment, maintain records and instructional resources and monitor the effectiveness of the training programs and handle other maintenance training as necessary.
The Maintenance Knowledge Development Instructor develops, coordinates and executes programs for employees throughout the corporation as assigned, with primary responsibility for maintenance crafts and the coordination of craft apprenticeship programs.
The Manager of Network Engineering leads the comprehensive technical support of Community Transit's data and telecommunication network systems and datacenter operations. This position manages the Network Engineering division that is responsible enterprise-wide Local and Wide area networking, VOIP telecommunications, datacenter operations, server administration, and corporate email. This position also recommends, acquires and implements computer and telephony systems, hardware, software, or services to meet the needs of the company's IT infrastructure in accordance with established Community Transit architecture. This includes leading a team to research, review and compare competing products, ensuring that assets are properly configured, installed, inventoried, maintained and extending existing technologies through design, testing and experience. The Manager of Network Engineering must be able to keep clear focus on team goals and deadlines, handle frequent interruptions, and be able to respond quickly to internal client needs. This position must be able to work with sensitive, confidential and/or proprietary material while maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
Under general direction this professional-level position manages the day to day operations and union staff of Community Transit’s Customer Care division (Ridestore, Distribution, or Call Center). The Customer Care Supervisor will create, maintain and inspire a customer-first focus within an environment of employee success. Advocate on behalf of the customer during business engagements. Creates and optimize systems and processes to ensure Customer Care Representatives have the knowledge and tools to exceed the customer’s expectations. Has the overall responsibility to ensure customer’s needs are met through reliable and accessible service.
Under limited supervision, will serve as a customer focused project implementation manager working with internal staff and contractors to implement enterprise wide software systems. This is a 2-year Term-Limited position. Job requirements include process engineering, vendor management, mutually agreed upon requirements development, scope management, ensure project stays on schedule and have fun!
Provides professional staff support to the Board of Directors and Executive Department/Office of the CEO. Coordinates the activities that support the Board’s operations; researches and prepares information and materials for board members, coordinates board committee’s work with the chair; coordinates and participates in development and update of Board policy; ensures regular review and updates of existing policies as the result of changes in applicable state and federal laws and regulations and other Board policies. Provides direction, guidance, consultation, research, analysis, and writing services to Agency staff in preparing legislative documents for internal review process and Board use in its decision-making process; assumes authority to accept service of legal process.
The Customer Experience Research and Design Consultant is responsible for optimizing the customer experience by partnering with key business units to research and design changes that make it easier for customers to get to their destination on public transportation. The consultant will develop and leverage customer insights and data to develop actionable and achievable customer experience design solutions, while balancing the overall needs of the organization. Through collaboration with a variety of different departments, the Customer Experience Design Consultant will be responsible for timely execution of experience projects and report out on the resulting impact and customer needs to the business.
This is both a strategic and hands-on position requiring intensive experience in building customer insights and using their user centered design methodologies to drive decisions that have a direct impact on the customer experience.
