Overview

As a Sales and Distribution Specialist, you will perform a variety of tasks and collaborate with other departments to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service.  You will respond to customer requests for ORCA card and fare media products and services in person, over the phone, and online.  You will also respond to customer lost & found inquiries and other comments, provide transit information, and distribute transit materials.

Essential Duties

  • Process over-the-counter retail, telephone, online, and mail order sales of electronic fare media, transit passes, tickets, and permits.  Process requests for refunds and maintain sales logs and inventory records.  Prepare daily cash sales reports and reconcile cash drawer.
  • Provide service to customers calling the ORCA regional call center including product sales, troubleshooting, and general information for Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Metro, Kitsap Transit, Pierce Transit, Sound Transit, and Washington State Ferries.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as:

    • Receive and process lost and found articles.  Answer customer inquiries regarding lost items.
    • Reply to inquiries from the public regarding route and schedule information, fares, ORCA services, troubleshooting, transfer points, operation changes, policy and procedures, etc.
    • Document, monitor, and resolve customer comments and complaints, service requests, commendations, surveys, and general transit inquiries. 
  • Create distribution routes.  Determine placement of marketing materials and set up distribution routes both internally and externally.  Determine outlet allocation, monitor usage, restock materials, and design kiosks and display racks for materials.  
  • Drive a company vehicle throughout Snohomish County to maintain and update existing Community Transit bus stop schedule posters and other transit information.
  • Stock and warehouse consumer information, and marketing materials, ensuring proper storage and security.  Maintain and record stock inventory weekly to ensure adequate supply for the corporation and distribution outlets.  Inform the Lead or Assistant Manager of stock requirements.
  • Assist customers at events and transit locations. Assist the Sales and Distribution Lead and the Assistant Manager with clerical and administrative tasks, as needed.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level, as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license and maintain a good driving record (no more than 2 moving violations and/or accidents within the last 3 years).
  • Must be able to work varied hours and days of the week.  This includes weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties is also accepted.

 

Knowledge Requirements

Working Conditions

 70% to 80% of your work is performed in an office environment and requires the use of office equipment and technology.  You may also be required to lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.  20% to 30% of your work will be performed in the field, in noisy environments and varying weather conditions, and will require you to move between bus stop locations.  While performing fieldwork, you may also be exposed to automotive fumes, odors, and dust.
