Overview

As an IT Analyst, you will be responsible for Community Transit’s ongoing systems administration and day-to-day operations of business technology systems, as well as the delivery and support of Community Transit’s mid-tier and end-point technical infrastructure.  You will work under general supervision and closely with other Information Technology personnel throughout the testing and implementation phases of various technologies.

Essential Duties

  • Provide technical support for escalated issues, including problem identification, investigation, and resolution for all customer facing technologies, and coordinate or perform the repair or replacement of malfunctioning systems and equipment.
  • Monitor information technology systems, applications, and infrastructure for performance and reliability in relation to established service level agreements.  Monitor system performance, reliability, connection status, and faults.  Review system and device connection reports and ensure appropriate action is taken.
  • Administer, and implement endpoint and hardware/software deployments and upgrades, including virtual desktop infrastructure, in partnership with other IT staff and impacted departments.  Deploy technology standards, as directed.  Administer and troubleshoot network access. 
  • Manage and oversee the process by which data is transferred to and from business systems.  Verify the data is current and is updated in the appropriate time intervals, as specified by business requirements.  Troubleshoot and resolve data transmission and availability issues.
  • Manage and oversee the process by which events and incidents with significant systems, applications, and infrastructure are detected by the Network Operations Center.  Analyze and troubleshoot anomalies or detected events and ensure appropriate action is taken.
  • Support communications between internal and external customers and vendors in support of technology systems.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working in Information Technology troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware, software, and network problems (a bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for 4 years of experience)
  • 5 years of experience in administering networks or systems 
  • 5 years of experience in an IT support role interfacing daily with end users in person, over the phone, and via email
  • 5 years of experience with Windows configuration, repair, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours to support critical systems and transit applications, as required
  • Must have a valid Washington State driver's license by hire date to operate a CT company vehicle, as needed.

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties is also accepted.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • 5 or more years of experience in Macintosh configuration, repair, and troubleshooting
  • Certification in ITIL Framework
  • Experience providing administration and support to 7 x 24 production systems
  • Experience working in a Network Operations Center
  • Experience working with a virtual-based infrastructure
  • Transit business and policy knowledge relating to customer service practices

 

 

Working Conditions

 

Hybrid telework may be available.  Availability is at management discretion and may not be available for this position based on the nature of the work.  Work is performed in an office environment and requires the use of office equipment and technology.  You will be required to move throughout and between different office buildings and may need to complete tasks in noisy environments.  You may also be required to lift and carry materials up to 10 pounds occasionally.
